Obligatory certification
For the imported goods subject to obligatory certification, Russian customs authorities request GOST R certificates. These certificates is the precondition to pass customs clearance and sell the goods on the Russian market.

GOST R certificates prove compliance with the legal requirements enacted in the Russian Federation assuring the safety of health, life and customers’ property as well as environmental protection.

Certified products are to be marked with the GOST R conformity marking.

Voluntary certification
Products that do not require safety certificates may be subject to a voluntary certification to demonstrate compliance with various regulations and normative-technical documents.

Voluntary certification can be based on standards (national, European, international, industrial, etc.), agreed normative-technical documents or product specifications.

Voluntary certification allows to mark the product with GOST R conformity marking.
